Touch down in Vietnam, and we were STARVING! So began our hunt for food :D
Eventually we found a small coffeeshop like stall that derved decent food and we decided to eat there.
Our first meal in HCMC:
We were really thirsty after walking around for awhile and bought really nice fruit juice for only SGD $1! CHEAPTHRILLS! I bought the mango juice and it totally tasted like a mango smoothie that you can only buy for $5/6 bucks in Sg.
Look at my happy face! ^^
Continuing our exploration, of course dinner time came in no time and we were extremely hungry. So we decided to chillout in some cafe that served ice water! Totally cheapo I know! But it can't be helped when theres no water to be found anywhere!
So, us being cheapo and all, bought 1 lemon meringue tart and sat there and used the free wifi and drank like three cups of ice water each >.< Oh wells! Nobody would recognise us even if they thought we were totally cheapskate people!
And since its Vietnam, we have to try their street food of course!
The chicken skewer and the popiah is superbbbb! I swear. And both are less then a dollar sgd! :D more cheap thrills. The chicken itself is a little too tough. Your mouth will be very 'suan' after just one skewer, but the marination is reallyyyy awesome. Really yummy. And the popiah tastes like fried ngoh hiah. An extra extra large one with extra crispy skin. Really satisfying and filling too. We liked this so much we ate it for all three days.
This was the first real street food dinner we had. The famous rice paper popiah and this waffle thingy we chanced upon and mango. The rice popiah was interesting. I didn't particularly like it alot, but it was worth the try. Together with the special chilli sauce, it was good :)
The waffle tastes like love letters. Smelt really nice when the person was making it thats why we bought it.
The mangoes cheated my feelings. I thought it was the normal mango you find on the street, but actually it is dried mango, like dried guava, the one you dip in plum powder and eat. I didn't like it but my mouth was itchy so I just ate it anyway. And that concluded our first day in vietnam.
Super exhausting since we woke up in the wee hours of the day and spent the whole day walking around. Which reminds me. Loots of the day.
I really like the watch and the phone cover. Well, cos I'm a hardcore batman fan, and it's really difficult to find nice batman covers that don't cost more then $50. Either it's too mainstream or I don't like the design. So I'm really glad I found this. Super unique with an attitude like its owner haha. And the watch, I've been souring around for a watch that can match every outfit and tada! I found it! I just bought the shirt cos it's cheap and bought ray bans as well as new spectacles frame cos its so cheap and looks nice. Will be making the lenses too cos my old specs cui until cannot cui alr haha.
Shoes! My old shoes such huge holes once you step in water my feet get instantly wet. So I'm really happy I managed to get new shoes :) And I really like them! Alot. The silver and black one is like super duper comfy. There's like cushion inside so it's really comfy to walk around in it.
Day two coming up soon! Sucha a long post >.<
