Time to add a little photo to my blog to make it more interesting!
So we were deciding where to go for lunch after church, and since my friend had a car, we decided to go somewhere that is slightly more difficult to go with public transport and we ended up at The Coastal Settlement (TCS)
The group of awesome people that I went with, even though the picture is taken really badly, and is blurry, nevertheless, still a photo of us :)
Nevertheless, greeted with a cute vintage car as we enter :)
The interior of the restaurant is really pretty, lined with vespas along the wall, mismatched furniture and all kinds of random furniture hanging down from the wall, it's pretty much another world as you enter. Maybe like narnia! Im not a sucker for the atmosphere, but I go more for the food, so lets move on to the mouth watering topic :P
Here's what I had:
The weekend brunch! Basically it's just truffle fries and half a chicken. I didn't think much of it when I first saw it. In fact, in my heart, I was thinking "this is so not worth $25!". But everything changed when I took just one bite of the truffle fries. OH MY GOODNESS. The flavour burst, is like nothing I ever tasted, and trust me, I've had quite afew truffle fries in my lifetime. The fries were so good that I was seriously thinking of packing some back for dinner!
The chicken was not to be beaten either. It was tender and juicy, but just a tad bit too salty. Finished it all up to the bone :) The chicken came with brocollini and corn. I still have no idea what is brocollini, but i suppose its the longer version of broccoli, with a longer stalk. It had like, no taste so I shan't comment much.
I also had the warm almond cake with honey ice cream for dessert. The cake was mediocre. And once again, too expensive for my taste. $12 for two small slices of cake that are barely enough to fill my tummy. The life saver was the ice cream. As you swallow the ice cream, you can really taste the honey, and that is not something that is accomplished easily!
This was the cupcake of the day! Strawberry cupcake or something like that. Looked awesome, but it wasn't advertised in the menu, so we just totally missed it. Oh welllll, always another reason to visit again :>
Too bad I didn't get photos of my friend's food, but they had the rosti with sasauge and the all day breakfast or something along those lines. The rosti was really good! Crispy on the sides and a strong flavour as you bite down on it. Much more filling as compared to Marche's rosti too and much cheaper ;) the sausage is bad for your kidney, being way too salty, but yummy! Won't kill your liver to work harder once in awhile! I didn't really get to taste the all day breakfast that my other friend ordered, but there were no complains :)
Just a funny picture to cheer up your day before I finish my post hehe
The cold and lonely fish at the corner is quite pitiful, but its still quite funny huh. Been blogging so much recently! But must strike while the kettle's hot! Knowing me, I might just lose interest the next moment, but I will try not to this time! Must persevere! hehe
