An extraordinary trip to a new country with a unregular group of people

This week has been absolutely tiring. Back from my Bali trip on Sunday night, first day at work on Monday and finally a rest day on thursday.

I went to Bali with 6 other people. Its an interest group sorta thing, so most of the people I went with, I met them for the first or second time and im already travelling with them. Well it was either travelling to taiwan alone or to bali with them, so I chose hem because I can always travel to taiwan again.

Pardon the messed up sequence of my photos because my computer is kinda spoilt and if I move the photos, something gets out of place and it just doesn't work so I'll leave it like that.

My first time having a food massage and I had a blue black. I dont know if its because the masseuse wasnt trained properly or she was just too strong haha.

All in all, the trip was a real eye opener, since the people I went with were all older than me, some even old enough to be my mum. But it was a really good experience, learning to coordinate the entire group, having to accommodate to everyone's requests. Having to room with people who just go into the toilet and bathe the first thing we get back home without even asking out of courtesy.

I was silent most of the trip, up till the last day because I was just observing everything, the culture of the group etc etc. It took me awhile to get used to the fact that everyone just does their own things, looking out for their own interests first then caring about the others. For example, when boarding the plane, if one person goes to the toilet, the rest will just board the plane first and leave the person behind. Same with shopping and eating. If two people want to do different things, the group will just separate, even if it means one person goes alone. Its just so different with friends, I mean friends will definitely wait for each other and at least try and accommodate each other. Even if we're just meeting and we dont really know each other, it still shouldnt be like that right? Maybe as we grow older this happens. Independence or selfishness?

I also didnt really enjoy the trip. Shopping is not fantastic, food is average, scenery is so-so. I doubt ill visit bali again. Once is enough. I dont know why the rest liked it so much though. Guess its just not my kind of holiday destination.

But it was still a good short getaway, an opportunity to learn and travel and chillax before i started work! More about work in my next blogpost! :)
