This is a ranting post. But despite my rants, it is based on actual facts.

I has a short telemarketing stint with one of the ERA agents. Her name is Pei Yu, more commonly known as Alyson. The job scope was easy, to call a list of people to find out if they were interested to sell their properties. The first two times I went to her office, everything was good and I was paid by the hour. Because all good things should be shared, I introduced my friend to this job so that we could work together since it was rather good money considering that there is a basic + commission.

Unfortunately, from the third day onwards, Alyson continuously disappeared when we reached the office. Just a few hours prior to starting work, she would text and ask if we were coming in to the office later. And 5-10 minutes before we started work she would tell us to look her colleague, Ken. This happened for three days. Finally, we decided that it was getting slightly suspicious. '

We decided to text her regarding the appointments we had gotten for her and the pay since it has already been three working days and we have not seen her at all.

On Saturday, she said she would meetup with two clients that I got for her. Subsequently, my friend also secured three appointments for her. We were told that every appointment we secure a meetup with reasonable prices, we would get a $30 commission on top of our basic. However, not only did she not get back to us on the appointment status, she told us that she did not meet up with the clients.

Thinking logically, why would a property agent not want to clinch a business opportunity especially since the clients were really interested to sell? In such an estate, the commission she would get alone can easily go up to a hundred thousand.

Being kind souls, we decided to give her the benefit of doubt. When we asked her about our basic hourly pay, she volunteered to transfer us our pay for the week. We gave her all the necessary information and waited. and waited. and waited. For four days, there was no text, no transfer, no updates even.

We texted her again to to check on the status. Blatantly ignoring us on whatsapp, she just continued with the charade of pretending that she cant see our texts. All this while that we were lasing with her, we were still really diplomatic and we were not rude in anyway. However all we got was attitude and getting ignored.

Finally, we thought that it was really too much. Even though our pay for the week is not a really huge sum, it is just unethical to withhold something that was rightfully someone elses. I mean it is not like we were skiving on the job anything, we did our best and even secured appointments for her which she did not even attempt to clinch ( or she could have went for the appointments and just refused to tell us - benefit of doubt) Either way, it took us 1.5 weeks, and so many text messages from both my friend and I, before we finally finally got our pay.

It was not pleasant at all and because of ONE agent, ERA has lost the trust of two consumers. Who I'm sure, by the word of mouth, would spread to more then two. I have no other motive for posting this online except to warn potential clients. I mean everyone has to buy or sell a property at one point or another. Do not fall prey to her like us.I dont care how well she talks or how nice she acts or how many deals she clinches. If she doesnt have the morals in the first place, what good is all this?
